Interesting end to the night last night. D11 did her first Wednesday night church service. It's not really a service. It's a get together for 6th, 7th and 8th grade kids from the church.

It looks like fun, but she didn't like her group and will switch next week.

Anyway, there was a stray cat outside when we got home. My neighbors told me about it. It's a very sweet cat and it hangs around the apartments looking for food.

D11 was soo upset we couldn't keep it. She was crying and didn't want to leave it outside. I said the cat could sleep inside and I'd take it to the "no-kill" shelter in the morning.

We brought the cat in and it did not want to be inside. It whined and whined until we let it out.

So once that drama died down, I told the girls this was their last night in the apartment. Thursday I get the keys to the house and start moving stuff.

For our good night prayer, D8 wanted to pray that whoever gets the apartment next loves it as much as she did. D11 wanted to pray for the cat. She doesn't want to remember the apartment. It has too many bad memories. D11 is still taking this awfully hard.

I have really buried myself the next couple of days in terms of getting work done and various events. It's going to be a long day.

More good news. That running race company has another event where we are needed. It's on Nov. 5-6 -- a Friday-Saturday -- and I still have vacation time left. So that's another $350 I can make.

That's good. November was going to be a stretch. Now I'll have that. I'll get part of my security deposit back on the apartment -- hopefully $400 or so -- December is a three-paycheck month so one of them I won't have to set aside rent and ... hopefully the D settlement.

Rollercoaster.
