Welcome to my new thread seeing as how my 100 page monstrosity was put to rest. I have nothing new and exciting to report unless you get off on minute details of my Colonoscopy preparations, which I trust you don't! So, tonight is toilet time and tomorrow this will all be a distant memory! So, don't forget to get me a card for the occassion, and remember it's a double header Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy all for one low price. Thank goodness for a government health plan! I'm praying to be unconscious, or as close as you can get, through the whole damn thing.
My mom got a colonoscopy in June 2009 and woke up and said, "When are they gonna give me the colonoscopy?" HAHAHAH! She then proceeded to eat like a cow.
Afterward, she said she wanted to go on the "colonoscopy diet" every month just be able to eat like that again!
Not making light of the situation, as it is certainly serious, but the miracles of modern medicine are AMAZING! Order a pizza before you go in and it'll be ready when you get out!
I've got an asparagus omelet cooked and ready in the fridge. I had to be very careful while making it to make sure I didn't taste out of habit! I haven't had anything to eat but lemon jello since five o'clock last night.
I thought that I was supposed to get one on my 50th. The doctor told me that they now wait until 60 before doing colonoscopies and that stool samples have the same success rate at detection. I get the feeling that Kaiser Permanente, which is both the insurance and doctors, is trying to save money.
Today I am a man! Mission accomplished and nothing is going up my butt or down my throat for another five to seven years. Hooray!!!Dr. said everything was OK from both ends, no issues. I had Morphine and Valium and guess what, I was conscious and felt everything anyway! What a waste of good drugs. Anyway, wife took me and stayed for the whole time and then I took her out for breakfast. The day is young, the weather is nice and I can eat again!
