You can also call a bunch of apartment companies and leave your name and number. They will be calling you back at your home number leaving messages like, "This is xyz-neighborhood calling about your recent interest in our properties"
That should make you look serious.
I thought of that, but we don't have a home line, just cells. Such is the 21st century.
