She visibly shrank (embarassment), was upset and angry on the way home, and she occassionally brings it back up if she is angry.
It is one of two "restaurant incidents" that she resents to this day
The other was at a place in the zoo and involves a comment on the signs posted around the zoo that tell you not to "feed or molest the animals". When presented with the option for desert, I asked for the bill because "we were in a hurry to get back to feeding and molesting the animals". Not funny apparently.
