Actually Pep and Saddler fought 4 times with Saddler knocking out Pep 3 times and Pep decisioning Saddler once. I wonder how either of them would have done against Salvador Sanchez.
I think my favorite weight class would have to be middleweight. Guys at 160 are still lightening fast, but with some devastating power. When I was spending a lot of time at the boxing gym, I wanted to be a middleweight, but my weight kept dropping until I got down to about 140 which is rather lean for someone that is 5' 10" at 30 years old. Those days of the ripped stomach and low body fat are far behind me. And I have messed up my shoulder from throwing too hard and too many left hooks.
I've have a dinner date with a new lady in 45 minutes. I seem more nervous for this one than all the others I have met. It may be because she is an electrical engineer and I am worried that she might test me on how quickly I can Thevenize and Nortonize a circuit. It has been a long time since I dabbled in electronics. I will try to keep the conversation more on golf (which she likes to do) and gardening.
Kerry, don't be shocked if there's some electricity between the two of you and don't forget to bring a surge protector, just in case...OMG that was bad, even for me!
Yes, you are right about Saddler and Pep. You know, I'm a stat nut and I developed a system to rank fighters in all classes. I stopped updating it when we split up -- no mental energy. A boxing fan here loved it and keeps bugging me to update it.
I hope to when it gets a little colder. I'll send you a link when it's back up to speed.
I've always wanted to head to the boxing gym here and work out and perhaps try three rounds -- instead I end just playing basketball.
