We never got our kids into organized sports. Their mom has them take tennis lessons. I have noticed that they are both better runners than most kids their age so that is something I imagine they will compete in like I did.

Last night at the Cub Scout meeting, they did a fitness activity. When the boys lined up for the 400 meter run, I decided to join them. I won...by a good margin! Kind of like Kramer on Seinfeld with the little kid karate class. It felt pretty good that a 50 year old man (who does not run) can still dominate the youth. And it was nice to see my son come in tied for 2nd.

Working! wink

Preschool and ESL are keeping me quite busy. But that is good because the days go by so fast. I spend time in so many different places that there is never time for the day to drag on...

That's a good thing! I hate it when it feels like the day is dragging on and on.....makes me ache all over. frown Of course, I sit in one place all blasted day so I don't get to move much. Just having very different things to do though help me make it through.

As the old song says, Stop the World and Let me Off!!

Too much going on, not enough time to do it all. Here are the highlights:

*GolfGuy texted he wants to get together again soon. Well, soon is relative since he lives 2 hrs away in Des Moines. I replied back with my kid-free weekends for October and we are going to work something out.

*A different guy on Match has been emailing. Last night he said he'd like to take me out if I am interested. I am considering it...he does like country music which is a plus and he appears cute. Just older than anyone I have ever dated (40--PLEASE don't hit me Jeff and Kerry!!!) wink

*Dan has been sending more texts again. Think his narcissism must flare up every so often, or he hasn't gotten an OW fix in a while. He emailed me at work four times yesterday. Basically, he wanted the kids to go to his parents after school today on the bus for the first time, bc he had his MRI. He was seeking my approval...it was his day, so why would I mind? And he texted me three times this morning to tell me Sydney had a rough morning, was grumpy and teary, etc. Why was that necessary??

Then Nathan called to tell me goodnight and Dan got on the phone, asking about Sydney dancing at the football game tomorrow night (she went to dance camp). I told him I had already written a note and put it in her backback explaining the plan. He said he hadn't looked at her bag yet (at nine pm??). Ok, handle it! Said Sydney was in tub so she would call back.

Then when she called back, he got on the phone again, after she talked to me? Wanted me to know they were running late for bed, she had a bad cold, etc etc.

I just think it's funny bc he sent the text last week about how they needed to get to bed earlier, 8:45 lights out. Then last night they call at nine and tonight at 9:10 to say goodnight? Sheesh. smile

*The Early Childhood Liaison for our part of the state (in charge of a dozen or more school districts) showed up at my preschool site this morning and watched me teach for 2 hours. Surprise! Lucky me, I was prepared. She gave me a pretty great review esp considering it was only our seventh day of school. Yay me! She said she just wished I could be at the sight LONGER than the 2 hours I am there, because I do such a nice job... blush

OK there's more but I am about 5 projects behind as it is... Oh and class tonight has given me a stress-tummy ache. We watched a video on white privilege and the discussion after that was pretty intense. Definitely a lot of very diverse viewpoints coming together. Kind of feels like sitting at a family reunion. wink

40 to your 35 is not that big of a difference.

I am planning to meet a 42 year old next week. Pretty much all of our green "how you match" dots line up except she was looking for someone with more education than myself and my age cutoff was 43. She is a hardware engineer and I am a software engineer. And she golfs!

Dont blow off the communication from Dan. It sounds like he is doing a pretty dandy job of coparenting. He just wants to keep you informed so that you may help in talking with Sydney about making mornings difficult.

I didn't mean to blow it off, Kerry. I do appreciate that we can communicate and work together on things for the kids.

It is just hard to get too excited. He was complaining to me that the kids need to go to bed early when he isn't even doing it. And sometimes I will send a message to him about the kids and he blows me off....But things are working right now, so I'll take it! smile

And part of it Kerry is probably self-preservation. In the past when he started initiating more contact I let myself think he missed me. Guarding against that....

Ok, so it continues. Guess he really wants to co-parent?! Hmm..

This morning he texts me at 7:30 wanting to know when Nathan has to be at school. Mind you he has been taking them to school since last April...He is obv running late and trying to make it at the last minute.

I replied back "8:15, unless he needs to eat breakfast, then 8:00".

So at 7:50, he calls me. He had said last night Sydney might be getting sick, so I answered. He asks, "So, when can Nathan be there and not be late? 8:15 right?" Seriously, I had just texted him that... I said yes. He asks if I think he has time to take Sydney up to day care and then take Nathan to school instead of dropping Nathan off first. I said, "Well if you can do it by 8:15." I don't get it, he really didn't need help with that...

Then at 11:30 he texts again "Can you let the kids know to ride the bus to my parents after school today." And then "I can't get to my email where I am." Ok.... I just replied asking if his parents were aware, he said yes, could I just tell the office. Well, if his phone worked, couldn't he call the office??? However I work in the building so no reason I could not give them the message. Felt like it would be pointlessly rude to just say no when I walk through the office 3 or 4 times a day.

Just weird.

Other than that, it's football Friday! My Sydney is dancing at the football game tonight. I will take pics and post them on FB.

Tomorrows game between Iowa and Arizona should be a good one! Go Cats!

Portland State Vikings playing at the Ducks will be a major blowout from the get go. I dont know why they even schedule a mismatch like this.

Beavers are playing Louisville in Corvallis tomorrow. Next week is a big game for the Beavers going to Boise State.
