Second the cat (or kitten) idea. I have two now; only problem is W likes them more than anyone in the family!

Actually, I did think about that bluestar. We have a dog and 2 cats at home, so I am used to having pets around too. The only issue is that the place I am renting is for sale and there are showings occasionally and I don't want to have to mess around with pet hair. I guess if I did a better job brushing the pet, maybe it wouldn't be an issue. Maybe I'll go cat-nap one of my old cats and bring her over!!!

Thanks for the suggestion.

PH, I think it's freaking hilarious that your W, the cat hater, who gave you crap about them has fallen for the cats. you want to scream: "JUST FIND ONE DAMN THING YOU BELIEVE IN AND STICK TO IT!."

Anyway,

Dan what do you hunt? I've always been a deer hunter and though I have a couple of shotguns, I never hunted birds before last week. I gotta say, I am a dove hunter now! That was the most damn fun I ever had in the woods (at least by myself). It's like being in a video game. I shot almost three boxes and only got two doves, but it totally rocked! Now I'm going to start practicing and am going back out in a week or so. This 180 stuff is awesome. And it's not something I would have tried before. Something different is good.

cheers.

Something different fires the old neurons and distracts you.

Also thinking about taking up Kung-foo or some other martial art.

Kung-foo and hunting won't help you at night though. That's why I thought about woodworking. Maybe a course at the local community college. Something stupid you would never have considered before. A foreign language or Music Appreciation.

Besides, Comunity Colleges are chocked-full of hot, older chicks going back to school!

Hey AG,

I started out hunting pheasants and ducks and moved on include deer. I will shoot a bonus rabbit once in a while. We never had dove seasons in WI until recently, but I haven't had much opportunity to try that. I may take the son out for rabbits/squirrels this year with a 22. Need to take him somewhere to practice first though.

Glad you had a good time. I love to be outdoors, but had given a lot of it up to lay in bed with my W. She even told me to go hunting in the morning, but I was more interested in staying in bed with her than spending hours freezing in a duck blind!!!

It is hard to find places to hunt anymore. Permission is hard to come by and public hunting grounds generally are not very good due to all the traffic.

Better luck on your next hunt.

I don't get out dove hunting much anymore, but it sure is a blast. Hardest things to shoot....ever!
