No! This damn virus seems to fade for a few days, I go to work and run my butt off, and then it's back.Every time I lie down I get the taste of that yuchy anti biotic Biaxin in my mouth, a real pleasure in the middle of the night. Thank goodness I took my last one last night. I took a holiday day today and I am resting until I go see the doctor and get the cough medicine. I told my D I'd drop her at gymnastics too. She's been taking the bus this week and that makes her ten minutes late. The poor kid has fifteen minutes after school to eat and get ready and then catch the bus. If I'm feeling a little perkier this evening I might go to the prayer group meeting, I just realized my woman friend will probably be there too! Our prayer group folded about six months ago and this is our "reunion" get together. I've never been real good at praying out loud, I was raised in a church where if you prayed out loud by yourself you'd be considered a weirdo! So these prayer groups are always an adventure for me. I hope nobody starts screaming "Jesus, Jesus,Jesus" tonight Jesus and myself find that very annoying. Thanks for checking in Romeo. smile

Well, that was the strangest prayer group I've ever been to! The hostess decided that prayer groups are not well attended because they are boring. So, she decided to put on some peppy Christian music and we would dance around her house. So, that's what we did. It was great fun and everybody was laughing and dancing, even an 84 year old woman! Afterwards we had our prayer group, did lots of anointing with oil and later sat down to eat together. I got home about 11:30 pm. I wasn't wanting to go initially but decided to push myself because someone had been nice enough to include me and if you don't show, they stop asking, so I went. I ended up having a fun evening which was more like a party than a prayer group. My woman friend wasn't there because she apparently had not been asked. Our prayer group is meeting once a month so I'll invite her to the next one.
Btw, I got my cough medicine. I told the doctor I was getting better but still had this cough. He said "would you be interested in some cough medicine" and I replied "why else would I be sitting in your waiting room for an hour?"

I forgot to mention something that really struck me last night. While we were all sitting around the dining room table talking I noticed the 84 year old couple, who have been married for 59 years, were touching each other. The wife was stroking the H's arm and the husband would reach over and and stroke her back. This seemed to be just reflex and I don't think they even knew they were doing it. It's amazing to think that there is still that kind of affection between these two people after 59 years together. It was beautiful to see.

Wii, glad to hear you ended up going and had a good time with the prayer group folks. It's touching to see how some people can have such amazing relationships after all the years together. Those 59 years the couple spent together probably saw and experienced some amazing life-altering (sad and happy) moments together. How cool.

Reminds me when I was in college and in my apartment building lived this elderly couple. I always saw the man holding and helping his wife walk to their car. He himself was old and frail but you could tell they both were very affectionate towards eachother. He would come over to chat whenever he saw me working on my car. He used to tell me how when he was my age (at that time) he had hopped up Novas and El Caminos and how he used to go to such and such race tracks etc. He always complimented me saying how kids these days don't even know how to pop the hood these days.

Your dancing prayer group sounds fun. I was envisioning it in my mind and got a little chuckle. I, too, like to see old couples together. Brings a little tear to my eyes. So sweet.

I left my bible study early tonight as I had to pick up D13 at gymnastics. I get there and no one is left except the Head Coach who helps me search for D who is nowhere to be found. I phone D's cell phone and get no answer. I call her mother's cell and D13 answers.
Me: I thought I told you I would be picking you up
D13: Ya but Mommy did
Me: Did you tell her that I was going to pick you up
D13: No, was I supposed to?
Kids. crazy

Tonight is the first practice for our Christmas choir and Whatis is going to pass. I really want to go and I love to sing but I just don't feel like committing myself to something I feel I'd have to go to every Thursday night. I'm trying not to over schedule myself and I can always find things I want to do. Sooner or later I'm exhausted again. I'm thinking that I have a small group every two weeks, bible study weekly, church twice on Sunday, two Saturday evening services and a prayer group monthly. My small group is talking about getting together more often socially such as going bowling one Saturday. I'm thinking I've got enough on the go. But there's that little voice inside of me that says "go to choir, Whatis" Part of this is what I learned from DBing, GAL and build a new life. I have trouble saying No to things because I feel I'm passing up on an opportunity. The more people you meet and the more activities you take part in the more likely you will build friendships and meet someone special. But, I also have to recognize that I'm still battling fatigue and I'm not over this virus/cold whatever. But the choir doesn't have enough tenors...No, down boy! STAY.
