Although I must admit the thought of soaking my dirty body in a bath is not fun. I usually shower first so that bath water is nice and clean. I have some lavender and chamomile epsom salts, so relaxing!

I had heel spurs in both feet - what pain! The only option my doctor gave me for a long-term solution was either surgery (ACK!), or... stretches (I am not religious with them when I should be) -
and New Balance sneakers. I have gone back for follow-ups a few times, and kept asking when I could go back to wearing my cute shoes, or sandals in the summer.
The answer was, when I was ready for surgery.
So, I live in these sneakers. I have two pair so I can trade off every day, and make sure to not keep them more than 6 or 8 months (they look ok but the inner support is shot). I get them on sale and with a coupon at Kohl's for about $35 - $40. They come in black if you need "dressier" shoes. They should be cross-trainers or running NB shoes with a good arch.
I miss my cute shoes, but I don't miss the pain. I can get away with something for about an hour or two, but I bring the sneakers with me to change. Even bare feet are terrible - at the start of treatment, the shoes had to go on as I got out of bed.
Try to use this time for some upper body - you can still play the swinging games (tennis, golf), do curls with canned goods, modified push-ups, etc.
Hey, our own group is thinking about starting Revelation next as well, possibly the Max Lucado book or some other. Let us know how you like the Beth Moore study.
I love your positive attitude, you take what I would see as a negative situation and I would be wallowing in self-pity and you look at it as you are better off than 90% of the people in the world. I want to be like you when I grow up!
I had the plantar facitis and when I went to PT they had me do the stretches, but also lots of excercises to strengthen my hips and legs, lots of heel lifts, which I should be doing as I slowly get back to exercising.

I had to laugh when I readthat Dagny! Hon, if you had the time I'd say read all of my threads....want to talk about a crazy woman who was suicidal, had absolutely no self-esteem (still working on that one), depressed, negative in the extreme, and living in self-pity victim mode? That would be ME! It has taken LOTS of therapy and help from friends here to get to the point that I can look at the positives through the negative haze that surrounds me through my natural tendencies.
You'll get there! Surround yourself with loving, generous people both here and in RL and you will start to see the good around you.
I am completely swamped at work since both our manager and our receptionist are on vacation. That leaves me with all of the manager's duties and half the receptionist's which I seriously don't have time for! Then what happens? I get an emergency call from Marc's school. He was in biology class working on a group lab and leaned over too far while sitting on the lab stool which then slid out from under him. He managed to flip himself in the air and land on his butt but he braced himself with his arm. He said he heard it pop. It looked like it was slightly dislocated but he's at the ER right now with Gabe (after we had to do a lot of shuffling!) and they said they don't think it is but they are waiting for a specialist to read the xrays.
GOOD HEAVENS!
