Whats up WII??? You know, fatherhood is not about how you handle the awards and accolades, it is about how you navigate through the disappointmment and confrontation. Your a great dad WII, tah tough stuff is what makes our armour stronger as we traverse the path brother.
Try pulling apart the sides from where the earring is (hard to articulate) but there are usually two round metal loops.. if you can pull them apart (away) from eachother and voila. It may be that they are squeezed so tight around the earring that that is why it's stuck.
Exactly what I was going to suggest. That, or, use a pair of tweezers to hold the front of the stud and another pair to grasp the back and pull. It might be enough leverage to get it off.

Tried the pliers, the kids have ones for crafts, no luck. Oh well, she's with wife now and I said that maybe some of the ladies at the BBQ that wife is taking them to tonight will have some ideas. I told her if it doesn't come off (she also has a small stud earring that apparently she hasn't been able to get off for months) I'll take her to the doctor and he can cut the earrings off. D says she's had it with pierced ears! We tried vasaline too, no luck. I googled this problem and somebody mentioned that her Mom took pliers and crushed the backing and it came off. I'd be scared of making the back sharp when you crush it and if it don't come off...not good.
I had a similar (albeit a bit worse) problem with Ashley's earrings when she was 8. She had not removed them for a while and they somehow grew right into her earlobes and they were infected. Came home from work late one night to her sobbing & telling me. Of course she was terrified. We had to go straight to Emerg where she had a needle (to freeze) in each ear and they were cut out. You'd think she would never pierce again! Unfortunately - not so! But we've never had the problem again.
Have her lie on her tummy and work at it with the pliers and a tissue. I'd freeze the area well with an icecube first.
Thanks SFO, I called the store where she had them pierced and was told to bring her in and they'll take them out. She has no infection that we're aware of. Unfortunately, that can't be done until Tuesday now. Hopefully her mom and friends will have more luck than I did!
Wii, too bad you're not closer...I have yet to find anything I couldn't fix with my sawzall and the welder.
Hopefully the earrings aren't hurting her so she can wait till Tue and let the pros handle it.

I found another place that's open today and wife is going to bring her this afternoon. If they can't take care of it I'll take her tomorrow afternoon to the other place. Welder...it's a thought...a bad one but a thought!
