Hey, a long weekend is upon us and I hope everyone gets out and gets some fun. But if you are on the boards, how about lightening up a litte bit and confessing a deep, dark or not so dark secret? Or a funny little quirk?
Like, you watch Jersey Shore and Bachelor Pad. Or, you know all the words to all the Abba songs. You once had a mullet. You still wear acid wash jeans? You once put Nair in your roommate's shampoo?
Me? I always use a tissue to open the doors in public restrooms. And yes, I confess, I may be a shopaholic. And I like the Doobey Brothers.
I love pictures of celebrities and their babies (as long it's not too creepy, where the parents and kids are ok with their pictures being taken, like on the people.com blog. The ones on the street where the actor is glaring at the camera are not my taste).
My kids have re-inspired me to listen to old Dick Dale surf albums. We all dance around the living room to it, and I make tropical drinks for them of pineapple, cranberry, and lemon juices. Try to keep it all natural so not too much sugar but there are three pineapple looking glasses for me and the kids.
And lots of BBC dramas. I grew up watching them with my parents, but my ex never seemed into them. It's so great to sit back and enjoy them now.
My deep dark secret. I absolutely hate the DBs (Doobie Brothers) I play the drums in a band and I refuse to play China Grove, Listen to the Music or Long Train Runnin. Michael McDonald loves to sing R&B and he has no soul!!!

You just reminded me, I used to play Bass in a cover band with a group of guys that LOVED the Beatles. Problem was that I have never liked them so I used to sit out the Beatles songs. I think it was one of my earliest examples of drawing boundaries
