Yesterday was crazy with my alarm system. Seems there was something wrong with one of the sensors. Spent several calls with ADT and went to get a battery for the sensor. Hard to snap the whole thing back together again. Finally when S14 got home, he had the magic touch and got it together. Really I spent 2.5 hours dealing with it.

Today I bought a scrap piece of lumber that should work for the door. I needed a 7"x1"x4" piece to fit in where the lock goes and I found a 1"x4"x2' so hopefully I can cut it down to fit and then cut the holes for the lock without too much trouble!

I used to look at this as a bunch of things piling up and would get frustrated. It feels so much better to look at it as one thing, deal with it and go on. I am just getting a lot of practice lately! lol

september...a new month, the boys' birthdays in a couple of weeks...it is going to be good. I can just feel it. smile

You are just ms. fix-it! I know a bunch of people in California with wood-working stuff, but not anyone out your way. If you ship it to me, I'll have my dad cut it down. wink

How do you plan to cut it? do you have a saw of some kind? I suppose a hacksaw will do for one cut but a Dewalt/Makita/Millwakee 14" compound miter saw would make you the queen of ms. fix-it smile

Yeah a hacksaw will do for one piece or have a neighbor or someone at Home Depot cut it for you.

Things are looking up kat! smile

Ok, I haven't got to the cutting part yet!! I was just happy finding a piece of wood that had 2 of the dimensions I needed so that I didn't have to do a ton of gluing.lol

Did the open house. We did some of the classes together. I covered all of S17's. they love that kid(as do I)! He has had 5 of the teachers before so it was good to see them again. He has my high school chemistry teacher, who was one of my favorites, for the second time. He is taking 2 college level classes this semester and will add at least one more at semester. I get tired just thinking about his course load. S14 is so much more laid back but he needs to be pushed to get things done.

I am turning in early. Night guys.

I told you guys that in my next relationship I want to be taken as an equal. So however I learned how to do things(out of need or desire) I am taking that with me. Hopefully the new guy will like to at least hang out in the kitchen with me if not helping me outright.

Now if for some reason this thinking isn't appealing to you guys let me know. Maybe I won't have to do everything together but I sure am willing to try. smile Oh and I have no problem being feminine I am just not a wilting flower. lol

kat

ps Kerry I can't see the videos yet but I did see the title of #2. I don't know about doing that with one hand but I can take it off without taking off my top. think Flashdance! lol
