Birthdays we don't do together. My parents haven't actually seen ex face to face since he filed. It would not be good. I make a big deal out of birthdays, ex does not. If it were just us, we could probably do it. I have no desire to include his fiance(OW) in our special days. Probably best to keep things as they are.
We have done the girls conferences together last year at the elementary school but not the boys. Like I said he wouldn't mention the divorce. The girls for the most part have done ok since they were younger . S17 has been the most vocal about his issues and S14 has definetly been hit the hardest. He has blossomed this past year and we are very close. He is always helping me fix things(his dad never really did).
The hardest thing is watching the boys fight for Man of the House honors. They each have their strong points but I am always telling them to enjoy being kids, no reason for them to try and take anything over. I will ask for help if I need it. Usually just cleaning up the chaos they create! lol
