I am sorry you are not feeling well. It is great that your daughters still got to go to the CNE. It is always so much fun. With your wife in such a pissy mood - you were better off to not be there - who needs that?
My suggestion for the future (for what it's worth) is to make plans to take them on your own next year. Let wife do what she wants with them and you do the same. If she acts like that when you're around - it diminishes the experience for the girls.
And your girls are both sweet & thoughtful to get you something. My ex, as you know - is the ex from Hell but I do not EVER say anything öff colour"if my kids choose to buy him something. He is their father. And who am I to interfere with their R and their rights?
Hope your cold is better today. I suggest cough syrup over the cookies. I made some yesterday that were really good. Maybe you can have one of those. YUM!
I have my daughter's cookies, the ones with the warning sign! The doctor put me on anti-biotics and cough medicine, I am so zonked. I'll just rest again today and hopefully be up for work tomorrow. As for the CNE, the girls had a great time. They said Mom got pissy on the way home, probably very tired. She gets like this sometimes when the girls pay extra attention to me. Maybe she should take a look at why my girls treat me this way. Is it because I don't take out my anger on them, is it because I hold them in my arms and let them cry when they are hurting? It's not all about who arranges the most outings and trips. But that's for her to figure out.
Thanks Kat. Slow down a bit? I always think I've already slowed down too much! Of course, that's in my head. I just talked to my mom and apparently my Dad had a fall yesterday and an ambulance was called. He had left mom a note saying he was going out for a walk and when mom returned from the store she saw the note and remembered seeing an ambulance around the corner and a grey haired man sitting on the curb. She walked over to the ambulance and sure enough, it was Dad. He'd tripped on something and fell scraping up his face and damaging his glasses. The neighbours took care of him and then called an ambulance just to make sure he was OK. Dad told me today "I saw a pretty lady and I just fell for her" and then said "I tried to leave as much blood as I could on the street to get some news coverage but it just didn't happen" At least he's still got his sense of humour! So, the ambulance attendants checked him out and drove them both home.
Wii, sorry to hear you're sick- but I thought we all knew that! seriously though, get well soon!
Glad to hear your dad's ok, jeez! At least now we know where you get your sense of humor

Still sick! I thought if I hit the sack early last night I'd be able to get to work, no such luck. I got up this morning and still felt really weak, then the coughing starts...no work today. Hopefully a second day of full rest will get me going again. I can't ever remember having a cold that hit me this hard. I'm just wasted. Naturally, last week the boss mentioned in my yearly evaluation that I take too much sick time so what happens, Monday I'm sick. Well, at least my voice backed me up this morning when I phoned in and left a message. Today in TO the Humidex is in the 40's and will be for most of the week. I've got no air conditioning. I'll just have to keep the fans going.
You called it Mish! It's hot, but luckily my apartment isn't too bad. Hey, have you ever tried to get an over the counter decongestant that is safe to use with St. John's Wort? Good luck! you can't use anything that has Dextromethorphan, which is pretty much everything. The pharmacists are pretty much useless as they have no idea about what goes with naturopathic medications. I asked at two pharmacies and honestly don't trust the advice. The doctor gave me a codeine cough medicine with Phenylephrine which apparently from my websearch is a no go either. I phoned my pharmacist, who went online, and said that the Phenyliphrine will exaggerate the drowsy effects of St. John's Wort (which has never made me drowsy) so she advised me to stop taking the SJW until I was over this cold. I think tomorrow I'll be phoning my Naturopath, her clinic was closed today, and find out what the heck I can and can't take! I phoned work and left the boss a message this afternoon telling her I won't be in tomorrow. If I go in I have a shift which includes three hours of walking to do and it ain't gonna happen. I'd pass out! If she makes a fuss about my absence or threatens me (she likes to tell you that if you apply for another job she'll just have to tell them about the absences, meanwhile agency policy prohibits her from telling any future employers anything about your work except to verify you've worked there, what your job was and how long you've been there) I'll be having a little chat with my Union Rep. I took the kids to the park tonight so that youngest could run through the water sprinklers, after an hour of that and watching ducks and goldfish I'd had it. So, that's the excitement from planet Whatis. Here's to hoping that this was the hump day and tomorrow I'll be back in the saddle again...whatever that means!
I read not to touch Sudafed and the other I've never heard of but I'll Google it. That's why I need to talk to Naturopath! Thanks OT. Actually, tonight the coughing and stuffiness has subsided and I'm actually feeling human! D13 and I just dropped over to wife's to give her a piece of cake that D baked and it looks like wife's got this bug now too. It's nice to be able to share things even though you're separated! Honestly though, I wouldn't wish this on anyone, it's been a bitch...don't say it! Hey, I'm being funny again, that's a good sign.
