If you are climbing Mt Everest, you may not reach the summit, but you will always reach YOUR summit. That is where you find out about YOU. Is the marathon YOUR Mt Everest? I have a great book, 26.2 Marathon Stories. I never wanted to run a marathon until I read this book. I want to go to Everest, meet Purba Tashi and climb to ABC or camp 3. That's my summit.

That sounds a lot like my workout and it's based on Herschel as well.
Mon Pushups/Situps
Tues Sprints (walk 300m/sprint 300m)
Wed Martial Arts Practice
Thurs Thursday 2 miles at medium pace
Fri Pushups/Situps
Sat 5K at about a 30min. pace.
Sun Rest

I have dropped 30 lbs since May without dieting. (I eat less though because I'm not hungry after working up a sweat.) My wife is so much more attracted to me.

The hard part for me is that she really pushed me about my weight after B****ing for years about my workouts. When I stopped, she b****ed about my weight. It was the closest I've ever been to leaving her. In the meantime, she has put on quite a bit of weight.

What bothers me is that she's so shallow. I drop the weight and now I pretty much can't get on Facebook. The chats pop up like crazy. She continues to pack away the cheesecake and tells me how much more attractive I am. The crumbling character not the the expanding waistline is what really turns me off.

Mine is much more prosaic;

Monday: Run 2m, crunches/pushups
Tuesday: Run 2 m, crunches/pushups
Wed: Run 2 m crunches/pushups
Thursday: Run 2 m, crunches/pushups
Friday: Run 2 m, crunches/pushups

Sat/Sun Rest

I try to get to the Y at least 3 nights a week for weights, but that's been hard lately because the W and I have been spending too much damn time together!

See, I HATE running. Absolutely despise it. It's good to mix up work outs to keep things fresh and not monotonous. My regular regimen consists of walking, cycling classes and some weight lifting.
Sometimes I'll throw in a yoga class if I'm really stressed.

Yeah, not sure how my knees are going to handle it over time, but I'm also going to start swimming too, especially when it gets too cold to run.

Running on a treadmill is horrible. You can't increase/decrease your speed as easily as when you're outside.

I have an excersise that really works if you have access to a basketball court. I hate monotonous torture, so all the normal aerobic things wear me slick after a while.

I made up this game several years ago and lost 50lbs in three months. Played it every day because it was fun. Actually looked forward to it.

Stand at the free throw line to start. Take a shot. If you hit it it's a point. Go back and take another. If you miss, chase the ball. If it get's outside the arc, you have to shoot from the the point it crossed. If you miss, it's a negative point.

All rebounds inside the arc are played from the spot of the rebound. Miss and chase. Hit and go back to the free throw line and try to score a point. Play to ten. It will run you flat ragged unless you're a good free throw shooter,(which you will become after a while). So then move to the wing (or somewhere else) as the scoring position and play the same way. Oh yeah, if you don't draw iron, or the ball goes out of bounds before you get it, it's a negative point too. Eventually, my shot improved enough that it got easy to reach 10. So then I only allowed myself two consecutive points. After that, I took my next shot from the top of the key and played as before.

It will burn a lot of calories without your braincells dying from boredom. You can go: turn and shoot, or take your time and square up, so you control the pace and can change it depending on how winded you get. Plus, your jump shot will improve.

Now, that's an AG original, so don't anybody go off and make a million dollars with the next "fitness revolution".

Nothing really, just worn down. This wears on you.

Wife went back to work to make up a few hours she lost when she stayed home sick yesterday. So I'm putting the girls to bed, then all alone til she gets home around midnight.

Don't really know why I'm in a funk; this happens a lot on the weekends.
