Is there someone you can plan to spend the day/evening with on Thursday??? If so, I would set that up NOW! Make it someone who understands the situation and will be fine whether you are up for laughing and having a good time or just need someone to be there with you and eat dinner or whatever. You may be just fine or you may need someone to simply be with and be supportive. Sometimes I'm OK with being alone and allowing myself to grieve, but mostly I do better when I limit that time frame and make myself get out with other people.
You're right though: the funks do usually lead to the next step in the growth process!
