That was pretty close. She gave me the info; I asked a couple follow ups and asked her what she would do IF he started talking about reconciliation. That she had to prepare...in case. Reminded her "we have never spoken" and that I had to get to a meeting.

Yep. Mysterious; catnip; confident; calm. It's easier when I feel I've earned some respect and have "hand". Probably why I feel the detachment more. Not a self-righteous "hand" but a "luxury of time" hand. "Luxury of MY decision" hand. Does that make any sense?

I like all of your responses, and agree with your approach, as it's good for YOU. But for the record, I could give a flying rat's ass whether or not your wayward wife sees anything as "controlling" right now.
I'm still gonna try to verify the new info this weekend.
OM's W could be "seeing things" in the number of cars at the parents' house. or something else occurred.
e.g. He swapped vehicles with his mom to work on it before he goes back to school.
It's all circumstantial at this point.
The only thing I do know is she said she moved to XXX (community) and neither I nor OM's W have noticed either W or OM vehicles at B/MIL's Co-OP Project in the last two weeks. I last checked on Sunday coming back from shopping.
If I can be sure where either he or she is, then I know the sitch has changed.

Wow - if I don't keep up better, this is one class I'm going to fail! Been gone all day and need to catch up.

Got Five Love Languages while out today. H is out of town for a few days so I'll have some time to read up.

Maybe if you can keep that in mind you won't have such a hard time limiting your convos with her. It's helped me anyway.
