A card for the anniversary is good. Agree, no gift. Not mushy, of course. Maybe pointing out that the marriage was good because it created the children and you are thankful for that. Or something to that effect. In no way giving her the "oh, you are so perfect" kind of card.
Good work on the phone call. She needs to pursue you, not vice versa. People only want what they can't have.
