True, very true. Taking risks is scary, taking risks with your emotional wellbeing at stake even more so!

Something I noticed while I was at the movie last night...I think I was the only person under 50 there! There was also only one man there. Maybe they are the ones that can afford to travel ans are using the film to see if they really want to go to those places or not. smile

I drove downtown to see my Psychologist today, I now truly understand risk taking for my emotional well being! It was like driving into hell...I love road construction one of the two major streets in our city for the whole friggin summer.

Holy macaroni batman!! I bought a new lock for my door. Was going to wait to try and change out the locks until a friend that has a clue would be handy. S14 decides let's give it a go. It took about 30 minutes to get the old lock out and another 30 minutes to get the new one undone enough to actually see what we needed to do. The directions say it takes about 30 minutes with just a screwdriver. Wrong!!

Anyway I don't have the right part for my drill to cut the hole bigger. So we had to put the old lock back in. Still didn't get the door knob on the inside back in.
That just took about 2 hours!!! S14 and I don't want to try this again for a bit.

OMG! That sounds like my BGF and I trying to changeout the lock on her back door. LOL! We took over 2 hours...of course that was also while drinking large quantities of wine and singing along to 80's hits!

Girls just wanna have fun.

I want to have fun!!(but this wasn't it.) lol S14 keeps saying but it was a great bonding experience Mom even though neither of us want to do it again. We will get it done but I am keeping the friend close at hand while I do it. Now I just have to line up the friend. smile

I didn't say we did a good job on the lock...only that it took us 2 hours! She had to have her BIL come and fix what we messed up. smile

I just got done talking to one of my handy friends. He said I might want to use the new lock on a different door. I might get one more opinion and go from there. Well, I must say not all of my ideas are brilliant. smile

That's awesome you guys gave it a try! That's better than most men these these lol See that's how you learn...you try, you make a mess, you clean it up and next time you know.

You probably needed a hole cutting saw to make the hold bigger, usually though the holes for the locks are pretty consistent...in my limited experience.

This is just an old house, so I do need to make the hole larger. It is the darn "panel" lock system that is in the door that is going to give me the problems. It is a deadbolt if that helps to explain what I am talking about. So when I take the lock out and go to put the cylinder in the door, there isn't anything there to support it. I don't know if the lock itself would be enough or if I need to get a piece of wood cut slightly smaller to put in the door to screw that in to.

Thanks for the kiddos! I am always up to giving it a good old college try. smile
