Fishing was fun. My oldest caught her first fish (a 12" catfish) while my youngest came home empty handed. They had fun, though patience at age 5 can be a challenge!
Had a little picnic after they tired of fishing, and now to start marinating some steaks for dinner tonight.
Life does go on, at times I think about w and kids, and other times I am just enjoying the freedom.
It is good you spent some time with your kids and enjoyed fishing, I never got into fishing, grew up in CA and played sports not much of the outdoor hunting and fishing thing.
I grew up in Cali too, before moving to Nebraska. Del Mar to be exact. Love the coast, hate the cost of living... But an In N Out double double sounds awesome.
HAHA Pin some friends are in vegas and said they were going to in-n-out I was jealous. I grew up in Thousand Oaks, and lived in Laguna Niguel for a while. I love CA but yes the cost of living is ridiculous, I still have friends there who make six figures and live in little apartments, its a joke.
Whats is strange is my W mentioned going to C together starting next month, i dont know if its for us, or just to understand and get along for the kids? She is moving so fast I cant keep up with her
My folks lived in Laguna Niguel for awhile back in the late '80s.
Friend of mine who retired after 20 years in the Navy sold his house in Encinitas for 800k (about 600K in gains) then moved to Oklahoma where his wife is a prof at OSU. Between the Navy pension etc. his toughest decisions are "what do I do with my daughters today?"
I missed out on that boom, moved out here in 1995. Don't miss much except the great food and the ocean.
Took my kids fishing at the Redondo Beach Pier in Los Angeles today. My S and D had fun with the fishing pole grandma and grandpa bought him. All we had was some nibbles, but the kids had a blast, and so did I. We spend 4 hours there, and then 4 hours at the doggie park. I will do anything to be gone on the weekends these days.
Fishing is great for the kids, and I am glad your kids had fun with you. It is good for the kids to be out doing something with you.
I hope you end the catfish. I just love catfish so much.

My oldest D gets her first bible at church today (a big deal in our church). Decided to get everyone up for the early service since I have a lot to do today. Kids sure grow up fast.
Had dinner as a family again last night, then W asked if I wanted to watch a movie. Watched The Bounty Hunter; not the best idea since it was a romantic comedy about a divorced couple. Tried to fall asleep during it, but Jennifer Aniston has definitely had some work done on the twins... W thinks Gerald Butler is a hunk.
MC tomorrow. I can survive another day. I've survived worse. Then it'll be time to end this charade.
