Still Here

I keep losing my other thread because I don't have much to post.

Not much has changed in the "sitch", still married, still plugging along, I very rarely have any interaction with H because he is of the "out of sight out of mind" frame...

Today I did though... We had to have a chat about oldest S.

Whenever we have to text, email or talk I always have to get myself ready for it...Can't just hop on the phone and have a pleasant conversation...I have to train like I am about to get in the ring with Rocky.

I wasn't in the mood today, been sick for the last 3 days with a kick-butt sinus infection when the text came in asking me a question about oldest S.

I answered as short as I could and then he was all about exchanging pleasantries...Quite honestly the best conversation we have had in 18 months.

We recently had a mutual friend pass away and were talking about him and how when he died he had become a minister and H was shocked.

Turns out he heard it through the grapevine I was on my way to becoming a Pastor...Said before he would have been shocked, however now he is not...

He ended the conversation by saying something to me I don't ever recall him ever saying...

I am proud of you.

I had to pick myself up off the floor after the shock wore off long enough for me to say thank you.

Didn't hear another word back from him though so I will keep on, keeping on.

So excited to read that you are becoming a Pastor. That is just outstanding, and from what I have read, it will fit you perfectly...

So he is proud of you? Not that you need his approval, but that is nice that he acknowledges that. Glad you are communicating more comfortably. Sometimes when I get a new text from ex I have to brace myself before reading bc I never know which personality trait I am going to experience...

You are correct I didn't need his approval, yet it was something I really needed to hear.

It made my day actually considering all the spew I have listened to these past 18 months.

I know what he thinks of me shouldn't ever matter again, however I haven't quite figured out how to implement that.

One day at a time and I am great my friend...

I get a little bit better and a little bit stronger each day and I can honestly say I am so truly blessed to be walking this road.

No matter how hard it is, no matter how many potholes are in the path nor how dark it is, I am finding out things about me I never knew before and I wouldn't trade that for anything.
