Hoever, PRIOR TO THIS, I went to the dealership we both used to work at when we met. I was talking with the friend that was helping me out on the truck (It's in "our" name so she would have to be involved).
He introduces me to the new Service Manager. I ask him how his staffing is. He asks why. Told him I deal with all the dealerships and know who's looking. He says he could use a good service writer. I said "I have the perfect person"
He says "Really?"
"Yep, she's so good at everything I married her."
My buddy looks at me and says "Funny you mention that. She applied here two days ago"
Svc Mngr says "I left her Vmail but she hasn't returned it yet."
So I text her "Call XXX at YYY (dealership).
15 minutes later (and she hasn't seen the text) THAT's when she calls me about the money transfer.
I said "Thanks, That's great. Call XXX here"
I explained the story (she was curious how I knew about it)and she says she'll call but can't from current employer. I tell the Svc Mgr he'll hear from her tonight on cell.
I text her and say 'He's expecting your call before six. He knows your pay expectation. I'd say good luck but you won't need it"
I get "Thanks. I need a real job that pays and is close. I hope it works out I could use the change"
M:You'll get it. I know that. You'll blow them away
W:Well thanks for the confidence and the good word. I appreciate it.
Then I go to the bank and get the mortgage extended to lower our payments saving us each 400/mo. Text her what I did and I need her signature. Meet you at the dayhome.
She says she isn't sure when she can get away and wants to meet the svc mngr tonight to nail down the job. "How about Saturday or Sunday"
M: If not tonight, it'll have to wait til Monday.
W:OK,I'll let you know my timing tonight.
AND, in the middle of all this, I managed to get a copy of Way of the Superior Man. I'm only a third into it and my brain is peeling right open. So stunning, my sinuses have cleared.
I FEEL FANTASTIC. EMPOWERED. ALIVE.
Allen-Already started. Moved a dresser that p'ed me off. Working on a couple other ideas, too.
Wonka-we haven't slept in the same room in a year but you are likely correct that it will affect her if/when she sees it. I'd like to kep her away for amother week til I can get all the changes made.
Plus, I pick up D in 30 and it's the weekend.
The hard week of soul-searching and lumber is paying off.
I know it's cycle but I'm enjoying the crest of this hill. Great view!
