No, seriously, I had a hard time getting past the fact that she abandoned her M especially since it was still very fresh for me. The difference was that there was no OM and it was all about her self-discovery.
My BFF's kids' middle school was like that for a couple of years and they decided it just didn't work for them so they went back to the 'normal' way of doing it. Marc's high school considered it but they scrapped it due to 'parent concerns'. Heck, they decided to start high school 15 minutes earlier this year with the same end time and as of next Monday it's back to 8:40 again due to 'parent frustration with the drop off situation'. Basically, the parents who drop their kids off instead of making them ride the bus were aggrivated because there is only one road into the complex. The complex consists of an elementary school, a middle school and a high school. The high school is the end of the road and the earlier start time meant they were starting at the same time as the middle school so it was a HUGE traffic snafu. Not to mention that basically ALL of the Juniors and Seniors were late because they drive to school and were stuck in the traffic too.
Why change what works?
