ok, fair enough, but I would look there to see if she has a license first...

YOur H could still be talking to her now, that's the last person you want him going to for advice... he may as well start a damn affair

it felt like he was having an EA with her. frown

i wanted to call up the service and request to speak to her directly myself.

i did not know counsellors were anti-marriage. i know they advise the caller to take care of themselves but taking care of themselves by running away from their marriage problems?

that's it's okay to use the excuse that "in order to save myself i have to hurt the one that i love"?

pack an overnight bag so you can leave her? she's an abuser, so pack your bags for a quick escape?

take her house key so she can't get in the house?

btw, we were separated in-house for 4 months and not once did he not come home. he always came home and did not need that overnight bag.

website doesn't list the names of the counsellors - they site "confidentiality".

i'm not even supposed to know who he spoke to.

That's ridiculous... They can't keep thier licenses confidential... They have to make clients aware that they are licensed...

Each state should have a registry of licensed family therapists and individual therapists as well.. by law they have to keep that up to date and available to the public so consumers can verify businesses are licensed to practice..

You don't need to go thorugh them to find out anyways... if she isn't in the registry then by law she's not entitled to practice FT and can't give FT advice to a client.. if she's caught doing that then she can lose her license

i called in to speak to one of the counsellors and i mentioned this person's name. and the counsellor said .. um .. she's not dr. ann smith. she only has a master's degree. and she can only advise based on what the client tells her. and i said don't you think you need to hear both sides before you give advice like packing an overnight bag and telling him to not tell his wife? what kind of message are you sending? how do i know he's not having an affair and you are helping him hide the affair?!

Yup... They will protect her...

I would just ask for her license info and then report her...

There is a governing body for therapists and they are the ones that give the licenses and revoke them.. you lodge a complaint with them and they launch an investigation...
