Well, I survived my first night at the new job! They had me wait tables and I only had 2 to take care of...I think I bugged the customers too much! lol! They said that tomorrow will be much busier...I hope they don't throw me out on my own...I think I'd handle it ok but still learning where everything is etc.

The owner is a little "different" and has certain ways of doing things and the girls warned me that she likes it her way...she hardly ever smiles but I managed to get one from her! She said I did good and she had no complaints!

I did wait on a few people that I cut their hair so it was fun! They went easy on me! smile

CW, I waited tables for 5 years (not that long, I know!) but I loved it most of the time! Did you like it?

NO, I doubt you bugged them, silly! As for getting to know your boss' likes and dislikes, well that just takes some time. But I have the feeling you will learn quickly.

So I hope you aren't exhausted...did you like your coworkers?

Wow guys! I am tired tonight....did the salon the first half of the day and waitressed the second half! It was busier and they threw in a few extra tables tonight! My salon boss came in and requested me as their waitress and was very nice...I screwed up a couple of times! I work much better under less pressure but everyone was very nice!

NM-my co-workers are all basically highschool or college age! They were very helpful though when I was "lost" there for a little while! I waited tables in highschool, after highschool, during beauty school and the first year after beauty school...about 10yrs in all at the same restaurant! My BFF's family owned it so all of us girls worked there at one time or another! When I started having recurring dreams that I was the only waitress and every table was full and I went from table to table saying "I'll be with you in a moment" holding a coffee pot but not ever pouring any coffee for anyone that it was time to move on!!!

NM-I bet you were an awesome waitress!

The good thing that happened, besides money! smile , was my BFF from my hometown's SIL stopped in to see me...she was in town for a wedding! It has been a couple of years and wish I'd had more time to visit! My BFF's family is like a extended family to me!

Anyway, body is aching and am thinking I will sleep good tonight!!!

lol! I think all of us who waited tables have had these recurrent nightmares! And I lived them a few times, actually...

As a teacher, I have beginning of the year dreams of arriving late to a room full of students waiting for me or somehow missing the first day- apparently this is still a common dream for veteran teachers too.

You betcha that you will sleep well tonight!

Hey, your salon customers are bringing money into the restaurant. Pretty cool!

NM...it is a small town so not unusual to see the same faces at both places!

Am in the process of cleaning S14's room...ugh! Are all teenage boys so gross? I really just planned to go thru his clothes and take inventory for school and had to just keep going with all of it. Found his first retainer under his bed!

SS and family just stopped by for a short visit. SS has not said one word to me about his Dad since this whole thing began...today, he mentioned his motorcycle...H helped him last weekend get it going. It is not running very well and apparenlty H did not show yesterday to help as planned and did not call...must have made SS mad enough that he said it to me..

Guess my kids are on their way home! Yeah! I can't wait to see them! As soon as I give them hugs I am sending S14 up to his room to scrape chewed gum off his floor! smile D12's room is next!!!

CW,

Checking in on you. Sounds as though you're going to have to go back to your regular job to "get a break". You sound like the Energizer Bunny! Things should get easier with your second job from here. The first few days are always the worst.

So...found out today from DIL that my kids told their Aunt (H's sis) that their Dad fights with OW's Mom and that when she came over to OW's house that H and the kids went out to the shed until she was gone! Apparently OW's Mom does not like H! Can't imagine why! He is a much older, married man that is shacking up with her D and now her D is not going to church anymore! Gee...why wouldn't she like him?

I had put the popcorn away as this movie was getting pretty boring but maybe I'll bring it back out!!!!

Thanks GAG! Yes, I hate starting new jobs but am kinda excited to go again!
