I really feel bad that I completely forgot a great positive from yesterday morning. Just before our shower, we were playing around in the bedroom with the puppy and I really do not know how we did it but we both ended up keeling by the bed with our arms kinda in the praying position and I made some remark about us praying and darn but she started actually praying out loud and thanked God for us and the opportunity to work on our R. After the prayer we both just stood up and I gave her a big hug. And she said that she knew that I was kidding with my statement about praying but that it seemed to be the thing to do at the time and I thanked her and said we should do it more.
(This post is slower than others for several reasons, I do not have to work today so I slept in, and in between key strokes I am eating one of the Best tasting Cinnamon Sweet Rolls I have eaten in a long time. - don’t usually do that for breakfast but I felt that today I deserved it. A 180 for me only)
Anyway - back to yesterday - I had to leave my car at the shop and so I was at my office without a ride. The shop was suppose to come get me when the car was done but I was busy and said I would call them back in about an hour and they said that would be fine. However — when I called back all I got was a voice mail in the service department. The dealership was open but I could not get them to come get me. I mentioned this to C on the IM and without hesitation, she said that she would come get me and take me to the shop to get my car. (That is about a 40 minute drive each way) I told her I would appreciate it but that they would likely call back and come get me. She kinda insisted though so I said I would really like that.
Well, within about 10 minutes the shop called and said they were on there way, so I called C on the Cell and told her that the shop courtesy car was coming over to get me and I hoped she was not too far. She said she would just go to the place where I got her her gift certificate for a Wave Bed thing. ( a kind back massager - water bed thing at a local tanning bed place - it really relaxes you) and that she would just use some of the minutes for that then maybe we could meet for dinner. I said great and after getting my car I headed over.
met her for dinner at an Italian place where her S21 (her youngest) works as a waiter and sat at his station. We had a great dinner and really good service, C even insisted she pick up the tab - I noticed she tipped at 120%, but I kinda think she likes the waiter. We then went to her place and checked out local movies and settled on a chick flick down the street. A movie called “Love Actually” A little bit different than the average movie but we both really enjoyed it. In the middle of the movie she turned to me and thanked me for going to a “chick flick” with her.
We then went back to her place and talked some and since it was late and I did stay the night last night I said that I should go. She thanked me for the evening and asked me to give her a call when I got home
So - Positives today over my coffee (done with the sweet rolls and on my third cup)
1. Her prayer yesterday morning 2. Our shower yesterday morning 3. Her dropping everything to come get me when I needed it 4. She really enjoyed her time on the Wave Massage machine 5. She asked me to dinner again (and said that that was one of the things she wanted to do yesterday) 6. We had a very special dinner again last night 7. We really enjoyed a movie together. 8. Last night on the phone (really this morning at 12:10am) when I called her after I got home even though she said she was working on Her and that we were taking one day at a time she did said ILY again as we hung up.
Well, this is not the thanksgiving I would have thought I would have had last summer but, it is way ahead of what it could have been and I am thankful for that opportunity to make things better so that next year and the many years after it will just get better and better.
