I am pretty sure that part of the speech begins "In the event of a water landing..." (meaning: if we crash in the water...).

I think George Carlin had some of the best stuff about airlines:

We will now begin the boarding "process". If you are in rows xx-nn, you may begin boarding now. While you are "on" the plane...

"On the plane? Screw you! I'm getting 'In' the plane. Let the daredevils get 'On' the plane".
