I can't remember the last time I was on the board and I apologize to my friends that supported me for being away for so long.
I wanted to give an update and hopefully get back here more often to start helping others.
H and I attended our Retrovaille weekend the first weekend of December 2009. We've had our ups and downs since then but most have been ups. The ups have been higher and the downs haven't been nearly as low and have been a lot easier to get through. We've worked through things that we hadn't worked through in years, if ever.
We have been attending CORE here in our area and also volunteering doing greeting at the Retro weekends. We also help doing call backs for people that need information on the weekends.
Our D6 finished kindergarten in June and is gearing up for 1st grade. She'll tell you.....I'm 6 and going into 1st grade! We lost our dog of 17 years in February. That was very difficult as she was a HUGE part of our lives. She was always with us no matter where we went before we had D6 and we didn't want to let her go.
H's dad has had some health problems but he's feeling better now. My dad got a great report from the Mayo Clinic. He's been cancer free for 3 years and is among only 10% of people with his type of cancer to be that fortunate.
My niece was married last weekend and also found out that she's expecting. People joked that it was a shot gun wedding but they'd been engaged for a year & 1/2 and had talked about having kids soon anyway. The wedding was incredible. H got up front at the dance and told everyone that he was her uncle and was fortunate and blessed to be a part of our family....just before dedicating a song to her and my BIL.
I actually started school yesterday. I'm still working full-time but I had desperately wanted to finish my bachelor's degree for years. I'm going to do it this time! Thankfully I have a lot of support from H.
I'm doing my best to give love and support to my cousin and his wife without taking sides or giving opinions. They are going through a situation all too familiar and close to mine. I'm doing the same for a dear friend of mine too. She's going through the same thing. It seems so sad that so many people I love have to go thorugh this. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Well, I think that's all for now. I'll be back soon!
