Actually, it's next week they are going away. I told my boss I might take a few days off. I could go down to Harbourfront and take a cruise around the harbour, go to the zoo (or even African Lion Safari...except it's $29 to get in...steep!), hit Centre Island, haven't been to the Art Gallery in years...if ever, come to think of it, or maybe a used book store tour (not that I need any more books) but there's lots of stuff to do! We'll see how it goes. I was also toying with heading out of town to see a baseball game depending on the schedule of the teams left in the playoffs. I got a few ideas. Any other suggestions OT? I live in Toronto.

Lots of options! I don't vote for the week of drunkeness though....no good ever came from that.

Hockey Hall of Fame? FUN!

If you have a tolerance for budget accommodations, hostels are great for adventure, making friends, and saving money, you can cook your own food too. Make a big pot of something to share and you'll definitely have friends. Yes, adults go to them, even in Canada, as far as I know. Hostelling might be good as a Wii/daughters family activity -- great way to see the world. Two potentially fun hostels with nearby adventures:

First of all, brush off the credit card and indulge yourself for a few days. It's time for a blow-out. You deserve it. Break freeeee! It will be OK and will pay for itself with renewed energy.

Wow OT, you must be a travel agent! Maybe you could set up Divorce Busting vacation packages for those in Piecing, starting with Las Vegas for a renewal of vows and ending with a thank you dinner in Boulder Colorado with Michelle. I'll leave the middle part of the package for you to fill in after all I did come up with the idea. This could be a real money maker!
OK, where did you come up with Parkwood? I'd never heard of it! Might be a fun day trip. As for the Scenic Caves, wife and I were there 17 years ago, nice place Collingwood...except for the Elvis Festival every year, that's too weird. And Penetanguishene has a really nice psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane...I think I'll pass on that one, too much like work. Hey, maybe I should go to Wasaga Beach for a day.

You're right, I've got a credit card, I could get laid! But what would I do with the other 23.75 hours left in the day?

I could join a cult for the week, I'll have to see whose in town. I hear The Hari Krishnas are always good for a free vegetarian meal. It would be kind of neat to shave my head, play dress up and learn to play the tambourine for the week. Add a little money making through pan handling with the Krishnas and my vacation could be a money maker rather than a drag on my wallet!

I just might go to the Base Borden Military Museum. It's a 1.5 hour drive but it's a base I served on 35 years ago and have never seen since. It's also where Military Policeman are trained. We used to call it "Base Bordem". I've never seen the museum and for $2 you can get a guided tour! Hmm, military museum or join a cult? Decisions, decisions.
