My SIL did that in her basement, the unfinished part of basement is where she and the girls scrapbooked/did crafts. So they hung cute fabric on the walls to 'decorate' and it looked cute! Also if the landlord lets you, you can paint the concrete floor, then put down a few fun rugs the girls would like. Target and places like that have big sales for back to school on all of those 'lounging' things for college kids but hey take advantage of the savings.
Awesome job sticking to a budget. I actually had a guy call last night from another city trying to get backers to invest in his company. It was so easy to say, "I am working on becoming debt free and I can't help you right now." Knowing you have a plan helps make a lot of decisions easier--not that I invest in strangers any way
CG, what I was trying to say is I don't want just a fling. When I was in my 20s there were some that were just dating for fun. When you were younger didn't you date some guys just because you wanted to with no long-term future in mind?
I don't want my life to get any more complicated than it is. Once the D is final, I'd love to start going on dates, but only with women I could see something down the road with.
I'm indentifying them by age because -- it seems easy -- and I'm not really courting any of them right now.
The thing about 37 is I have known her a long time and we would not work out. Smoking is No. 1. STBXW smoked when I met her, but she knew I didn't want to date smokers so she hid it for three months and then quit after we got married.
She also has a lot of drama with ex-boyfriends and family. She's not very stable and I wouldn't want to submit my girls to that.
So right now it's just an occasional phone call, see each other out once a month thing.

As you meet more and more ladies, you will need to revise your naming convention to be more than just age numbers. I like what Mike From Tennessee did by using their occupation and age ie. hairdresser_40, teacher_42, etc...
Good point Kerry. So 31 will be church_31 and 35 will be church_35. 37 is hospital_37. She's in the billing department or something like that.
Texts from STBXW. She registered the girls for school and my Monday plan is OK. That's where I'll be swimming with them while she's drinking in South Dakota.
The moments of pain on that don't seem to be as deep and my future developments seem to be keeping me up more.
I got a call from the high school I worked at last fall and winter, running the scoreboard and keeping the scorebook for football and basketball games.
We're back in for this year, which is sweet. I love watching sports and for this gig we got paid -- $45 for varsity games and $35 for freshman. I made about $1,100 doing this last year and two other friends of mine made $900 and $800.
That extra money carries me from November through March, when the running races start up again.
Last thing on STBXW, after the text about registering the girls for school, I asked if she's discussed D11's bus route. The last month of the last school year I had to drive D11 to school and pick her up because a boy on the bus harassed her.
They are in the same grade and D11 doesn't want to be on the bus with him. I can not drive her and pick her up every day. That's just too much. I'm guessing STBXW hasn't taken care of this yet and she needed to be reminded.
These are things I took care of in the past, but she insisted on being the primary physical custodian.

My friend said to me today I was like Mother Theresa and am thinking that was NOT a compliment, lol!
LOL! What kind of weirdos do you have for friends? I would never say such a thing.
CTH, highschool games gig sounds great! Who doesn't need a few extra $ these days?

Contact the bus company if your stbx doesn't - they can assign seats to keep them apart. Unfortunately, your D11 will have some of this in her life and will have to learn how to manage it, too - it can help if you roleplay with her, help her come up with some strategies herself.
Heading over in a couple of minutes to see D8's end of camp pony riding show. I'll have to borrow a camera from work. I can't find mine. I'm assuming STBXW will be there.
I had to pull money from my IRA and it showed up in my account today, so now I can pay the deposit on the rental house, pay my half of the IRS bill and catch up from summer.
It means I'm going to have a chunk to pay on taxes next year, but I'm going to set aside some of the D settlement for that.
It hurts to yank the money out, but I have 26 years before I hit 67 -- which is kind of my targeted retirement age -- and I'd rather be able to live today while my kids are young.
Looking at my diary from a year ago. I did not write anything on Aug. 6. On Aug. 5, it appears as if I was starting to get a clue.
"Weird thing is the more we're apart the more I wonder how in the world we'd ever get back together."
On Aug. 7, I wrote this.
"D11 and D8 won't be kids forever. Eventually they will move out and move on and then there will be ... what, a career? You can't hold a career's hand or take it on vacation. I will keep going, joining groups, talking to people, trying to find someone to share my life with. If she's not on the other side of this park then she's out there somewhere."
