Well, Pam I can't send you sunshine...but how does 5 inches of purest fluffy white snow sound? Our 40 foot blue spruces are picture postcard perfect, each bow bending under it's crystalline blanket.
Well it's one more exam to go tonight...the big class (300 students) so I hope it goes smoothly.
Well my MD app't went well yesterday. Apparently my iron is good, my "female hormones" are well within the normal range, no thyroid problems.
I bitched about the weight and my Doctor said "You're not obese, in fact the extra pounds let me know you're healthy!"
What??? Yeah, well, I suppose with Ulcerative Colitis or in my case, no colon, it's more typical for people to have problems putting weight on? Never a problem for me!
Then I did some Christmas Shopping. Ordered in a very nice end table for CJ (he'd mentioned our need for one near the tub chair, and I found one that I think will pull in his red wall nicely).
Yeah so much for keeping secrets here. He's not reading anyway! The other gifts (so far) are much needed new shirts/sweaters.
Bad news for CJ yesterday. He SOOOOO wanted this job with our new Medical school and was waiting to hear back. They sent him a generic e-mail yesterday saying that due to staffing changes the position was no longer being offered!!
Very fishy. Sounds to us like they got ahead of themselves. They still have a large number of faculty to hire...and THESE would be the people feeding info to the head of "e-learning" in order to build the e-learning modules.
So I comforted him...said it was better than the job still being a go and not even getting an interview! (there were 30 applicants!).
I think they might just re-tool the job position and re-advertise it towards spring. I told CJ I have complete faith in HIM and the Universe to make his career dreams come true.
Still I know it was a blow to him. He seems to have lost some of the motivation he had going for school, but perhaps with the extensions he just doesn't have to push as hard right now.
When I got home on Tuesday, CJ had decorated our diningroom window too!!, and tonight it's either the tree, or we make his famous peanut butter cups.
Well, my doctor's appointment was today and THAT didn't work out. So won't be getting my hormones checked right now. May just wait till next summer now and go when mom goes again.
I would love to see your Blue Spruce but please don't send the snow. I don't want to have to get to work and up and down my drive in the snow.
I'm betting you are right on the job being redesigned and offered later. That just sounds like something that would happen.
Pam
"We must be willing to let go of the life we had planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us"
Just time for a short update...unless the insomnia bug gets me again tonight (first time in AGES I spent most of last night gnawing over minor worries ).
But other than getting up at 3 p.m. and hence having barely 2 hours of daylight to enjoy, the day was fine!
CJ had brought our tree up yesterday (no small feat) and it's ready for decorating.
We went to my neice's place for our pre Christmas party so Nephew S (25) who's in town for a few days could see us all. It was really nice. Even Nana was there!!!
CJ had a few rum and cokes, so I drove us home. He was so silly on the ride, making me drive around our neighbourhood so he could comment on the Christmas decorations...mostly bad...but funny bad. ...
It was just FUN!! And now he's sleeping soundly..which soon, hopefully I will be too!
