Yeah, my Dad told me I should have asked him out for a drink. Nah, I can't do it. I don't want anything to do with her.

So, I consulted with my lawyer and said she can't do anything until the ex actually stops paying on her obligations. She also said that if I file for contempt in FL but that I would have to travel back to FL everytime there was a hearing. She suggested that I wait to get to AZ before I file for contempt if I need to.

I asked her if there was a way to be proactive instead of reactive. She said, because my ex is active duty that I could explain the situation to my 1st Sergeant and see if they would contact her 1st Sergeant to cut her off at the pass so to speak. So I did...

Conversation went something like this: Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I spoke with my lawyer regarding ex wife's intentions to not honor her obligations and possibly file for bankruptcy. I told the 1st Sgt that I would rather be proactive than having to file for contempt of court in AZ which would force the ex to have to take leave and travel on her own dime out there everytime there is a hearing. Additionally, if she does not show then there would be a bench warrant for her in AZ. I told her also that I thought it was damn irresponsible for the ex to go on a Disney cruise this past weekend and yet she has an appointment w/ a bankruptcy attorney?

She said she would do what she can by contacting my ex wife's 1st Sgt as she felt it was irresponsible and we'll see what happens.

I don't want to be in financial straights because of my ex's blatant irresponsibilty nor do I want to have my daughter's standard of living significantly impacted because she has behaved this way. Damn frustrating sitting here waiting.
