That's so sweet, Deb.

But being a Canuck, Thanksgiving was a month and a half ago!!! LOL!

I almost HATE to admit it (don't ask me why) but in the week and a half since I bought my pedometer and have been increasing my physical activity I have LOTS more energy!!!

I mean I KNEW this all along...but being tired and exhausted was just soooo appealing!

Today for instance:

I headed to school, parked farther away than necessary, slogged through the slush. Taught three great classes (gee no modesty here, huh? )...motored around the hallways...

Headed to my Sis's shop and bought a beautiful batik dress and a bathing suit wrap for my best friend MJ who joins me in being 40 on Dec. 4th.

(Kind of bitter-sweet actually as I was supposed to be joining her and some pals on the girls-only vacation, but I was so unsure of my health and the timing of my classes/exams didn't mesh )

Then I picked up $80 worth of groceries..came home, put them away and started a large batch of tomato sauce...mixed and rolled up 48 large meat balls...now everything is simmering.

This is the first time I've sat all day!!!

(On previous Wednesdays I'd have fallen asleep for three hours after coming straight home from work)

All is well, all is good...time to stir the sauce!!

Shiny

P.S. Happy Turkey day to YOU my American friends!!!

Now PLEASE some one tell me...do you guys do the whole turkey family thing on Thursday??? Do you all get Friday off??

If not, then how do so many people travel for this weekend?

And why have the big meal on Thursday (no prep time!) when you could do it on Sunday???

Just a curious Canadian!

hi Shiny- sorry to hear you were not feeling well but I am pretty cheered up about your walking!! I think it does add a ton of energy. You used to sleep alot right??? As for turkey, you thaw it out on Tuesday night, get it stuffed on weds and throw it in the oven on Thursday morning. By about 2 or 3 we eat and my mother spends most of tonight doing chickenliver dressing and and sweet potatoes to bake tomorrow. Friday is shopping day or football day for the guys and the weekend is normal but officially it is Christmas. By the way,my H is telling me I am not into in bed- maybe your point of view is similar to his. He says sex is important to him and not as much to me. But I am available but feel pressured to orgasm every time- the meds make this difficult. I am switching by the way because of it. Just my perspective: If I dont orgasm he takes if personally as a statemt on OR. Maybe CJ is in the mode??

Shiny:

Sayiing hi and sending a hug.

Been kinda in lurk mode but want U to know
I'm thinking of you. Grateful for your
energy and encouragement, always. You're a winner
and you make me hopeful.

It's late and I'm sleepy (visiting my mom, lots
of catching up with sisters and their families too)
so won't talk long. Just want to be sure you
know you're so very often in my thoughts.

Peace and love,

Bridget

Thank you Bridget!

I needed a little boost today as I found out that once again I did not win the coveted Distinguished Instructor
Award.

I asked for the rankings/ratings of my dossier and was told by our V.P. academic that there IS NO empirical/quantatative data gathered in the decision making process!!! Which means it is all subjective...

I just wrote an e-mail to the Chair of the selection committee asking for a meeting, so wish me luck. All I really want to know is if I have a chance of EVER winning this award (I am not a tenured professor), as the work involved in the submissions is substantial.

Oh well....

Supposed to be joining MJ for bingo and her birthday gift this evening, maybe I'll hit the jack pot there.
