Oh Jeff, so sorry to hear about Charlotte, I guess it could be kidneys, amongst other things that's what happened to my almost 20 yr old cat.We just have to remember how they enriched our lives and be strong. Soooo hard, talking to myself here, a few weeks ago I made the dreaded vet appointment for my dog and then cancelled it, he perked up a little or did I see those baby steps ?? I am now in the same position of having to make another appointment. Thinking of you and sending lots of hugs.
It's her kidneys. They have pretty much shut down. She had an IV all afternoon, and goes back in the morning for an all day IV. Quite possibly Sunday as well. At that point, we should know if she is showing the possibility of rebounding, at least for a while.
I've been there. I had a basset hound euthanized in my arms while I was in grad school (early 1980s) as well as our keeshond passing as W and I were comforting her in early 2003.
It is difficult and I feel for you...
