Ahhh... someone keeps sneaking them into our house. Must be the dogs. (teehee) I'll have to speak with them about that.

FMV, Don't bother talking to them, it won't do any good. Just muzzle them instead!

Eric, now THAT is quite a mental picture! Is the lilac tutu at the cleaners?

I'm in!

I'm on holidays for the next 6 weeks (or I will be if I can get finished up tomorrow) so I'm going to set goals for that timeline ...

Exercise (ok, I do NONE so I'm aiming for consistency here):

1. Walk/run 20 mins daily (longer if schedule allows)

2. 10 mins exercises (2 exercises, 4 sets each, 25 reps) on week days
- M ... squats and shoulder press
- T ... biceps curls and triceps extensions
- W ... pushups (2 ways)
- Th .. lunges and dead lifts
- F ... abs (Tony's video)

3. 1 hr hike or geocaching at least once/week

4. get more involved with kids in active play

Food:

1. start eating a healthy breakfast again

2. cut restaurants back to no more than once/week

3. NO eating after 7pm (might allow one evening for snacks, but will skip supper that day)

4. smaller portions

5. more fruits and veggies

6. do not drink calories (except in booze - I know, it's a twisted goal smile )

7. drink more water, lots and lots of water

So ... I'm aiming for 15 lbs in 6 weeks (or there abouts, I'm not at home to weight myself until Sunday morning so that's going to be my official "start" weight).

Peace
PEI

All right, I am in. I have been doing very well for about 3 months and made a lot of progress. But I need a shot of motivation.

I have lost only about 7 pounds and in the last week or so I put one of those pounds back on. BUT I have had a pretty good steady routine that's combined weight lifting, yoga, and cardio. I do not really need to lose weight, but I did drop a size. I guess I wouldn't mind losing about 5 more pounds but I am at a healthy weight now.

My problem is that I get bored. I especially dislike cardio, but I think I need that the most! It's summer and I think I can get more creative, so that is my challenge to myself:

-30 minutes exercise / 5x week
-Try one new type of cardio once a week.

I put cardio on there because I really dislike it. If it were more fun, I would do it more often.

Maybe I can try some aerobics DVDs from the library.

Official Start Date: Sunday August 1, 2010

Goal/s: Can be whatever you like. For example, lose 5lbs, no fast food for a month etc.

Weigh In/Measurments: Depending on your goal pick a day of the week that works for you to check your progress. For example, if weight loss is your goal Sunday weigh in.

Post here: Check-in here weekly to report progress and give/get encouragment

Struggles: If you are struggling with anything post here, maybe the rest of us can help with advice.

Fitday.com: Nice free website that you might want to go to chart your progress track weight loss and record daily food intake

Good Luck everyone. GAME ON GO!

I find weighing daily is needed for me to keep focused. I have one of those biometric digital scales that approximately measures body fat % too, so the % body fat is a more important metric. Of course, just water in-take can cause fluxuations here, but... what can I say? The metrics keep me focused.

I also keep a calendar of my activities (#minutes, reps, so on), compare them to my activity goals, and adjust my goals as I become more ambitous.

By doing this, my company rebates 150 dollars of the money I spend on health insurance smile

TH nice incentive by your company. Some may need to weigh in daily. It discourages me since many times I see no progress or backward progress.

Forward I am right there with you regarding cardio and boredom. I hate it. I could weight lift all day.

What I am trying for cardio now is walk uphill on treadmill at highest incline at 4.0 speed for 15 min.

Then I mix jog, stair climbing, and jump rope in between my sets of weight lifting.

Breaks it up and helps with boredom. I am going to see if this helps with my weight loss issues. I am stuck on that last 10 pounds.
