Well, the problem is she wants to eat fruit and exclude those other things. She's not too obsessed with "good" versus "bad" foods yet. But to her, eating the banana instead of the bagel is dieting. (and since the bagel was smothered in butter, it DID have more calories ). We actually don't have much in the way of junk food in our house, and she's always eaten a varied and healthy diet - never been a picky eater like my boys are. She loves avocados and I keep them around for her - good healthy fats. I'd actually like to try stocking more "enticing" foods (my kids love junk cereal which I never buy for them unless we are on vacation skiing) just to get her calorie intake up in the short term, but I don't want her to feel like I am "tricking" her into eating either, so i will have to be subtle about it.
