Ellie,
That is excellent news about your sons SAT score.
Isn't 1600 considered perfect???
He made 1590!!!!

Yeah baby!!

Anyway I'm glad you & your family had a nice trip.
H & I are doing well, very well all things considered.

I have been spending alot of time thinking about the past year and all the DB'ing I did.

It was so hard, especially when he was dealing with the break up from XOW.
I guess I was on auto pilot.

Anyway the important thing is that we are moving forward together.

I know your H's words had to sound so sweet.

I went up to H as he was playing with S3 and kissed the back of his neck. Teasingly I said do you know how lucky you are to have me?
He said without a doubt, I know

I hope 2004 brings happiness for you & your family.

Plus a break from fires,mudslides & earthquakes!!!

Kim

Thanks, Kim
I remind my H how lucky he is to have me too!

For the rest of you - I was telling Kim how I forgot to post that my S17 got his SAT scores. We were really concerned that he do his best, because he had some less-than-stellar grades last spring (due in part to all the turmoil in the house ). Well, he got a 1590! (yes, out of 1600!). Hopefully that will encourage the college admissions to overlook some of his grades

Another thing I meant to post - I have just finished reading the greatest book. I am normally not a big fan of war stories, but trust me, this is the most thrilling story. It's called Ghost Soldiers, by Hampton Sides, and it's a true account of the daring rescue of 500 American POWs in the Phillipines (they were survivors of the Bataan death march). It's a real page-turner, Hollywood couldn't have come up with a more suspenseful story or more interesting cast of characters. It will definitely make you forget your day-to-day struggles - and put some serious perspective on them. Easily one of the best books I've read.

I must confess, I think there was a little bit of luck involved, since it was definitely higher than his practice scores - but also, I think he just really focused when the heat was on and he was in the actual test. He tends to misread questions or overthink them, obviously this time he didn't do that! I'm always impressed at how bright the people here on the bb are, and I guess our kids just reflect that, hey, Tal?

Went to dinner last night with my H (date night ) and we talked a little about R's and what we've learned. I mentioned gently that this day a year ago had been the worst of my life, and this day now was one of the best, and I was surprised to find out that he too had been thinking about the fact that it was the anniversary of the day I found out about his affair. Made me feel good that while I was being very good about not getting sucked into negative "anniversary" feelings, he was aware and caring about that possibility.

BTW - ODGA - I told him your comment about the gold ore, then said "Honey - we've been smelted!"

hey ellie,

Glad to hear things are going so well for you - what a difference a year makes, huh? Well, at least for some.

I don't have a new thread yet...my bomb annivesary is 1/5...maybe I'll start one then. A lot has happened - some good, some bad...not sure what to make of it.

Anyway, just wanted to drop by, say I'm happy for you, thanks you for your good advice and strong support the last few months, and Happy New Year!

hmmmm, I agree - lame to leave you hanging, BUT a big curve was thrown to me yesterday, and I'm still assimilating it - lots of other stuff leading up to it - just not sure what to make of it all when put in context together - very little sleep last night.

Tell you what - let me try to post tonight...just search for my name, as I likely won;t post again today, and I don't know what I'll name the thread.

Thanks for caring, ellie.

Hello Ellie

Happy New Year and I hope 2004 is a great year to remember!

Quite a lot has happened over in my situation in the last two weeks - me of the 'to send, or not to send the note' thread. I still haven't sent a note or talked AT ALL about our situation. It is an exercise in patience, huh? I haven't even had the time to do a full write up...
