The insurance might have been a moot point - here in CT, it is illegal to remove a spouse from insurance until the D is final. It sounds like it might be a good idea to let the Ls take care of the business as much as possible.
And you might not be looking at it as a date, but betcha G4 is....she's just a tad too eager. There are two people in the equation.
