VEBT AWAY LL. That is what this BB is all about. One thing though. If your H left, you'd still have the issue of him not keeping his word to his kids. If he has that trait, I doubt he'll change. Question is: Do you want to live with it? With him? How long was your H gone before he moved back home? I can relate, because I am frustrated with my H too, but for different reasons.
