why did she leave? I don't make her a priority, I'm controlling, I play poker too much. (I stopped playing and joined a 12 step 4 months ago).
is there another man involved? Not that I am aware of.
what's the situation with the kids? We started 50/50, 7 weeks into separation she decided every other weekend was best so I could focus on my 12 step recovery. I got her to counseling session after this announcement, she had no basis. Filed Legal Separation to get my 50/50 back which I did.
do you have joint custody? Yes, 50/50 joint/joint. Judge also agreed son to not change schools (she wanted him closer to her, she moved with Mom/Dad 24 miles away)
what's your goal? To put my family back together.
do you want her back? if so, why? (I'm not looking for the "I love her" answer) Yes, prior to our sons birth which started or escalated depression in her, we had a lot of fun together for 8 years. My best friend and vice versa. If you ask her today, there was never a good time, but of course there were. On a side note, I've analyzed, for sure the last five years I've gotten next to nothing from our relationship and I know I will survive and thrive regardless of the outcome. My kids want Mom and Dad together of course, we don't fight, etc. We surely lost the fun in the last few years. This is truly the largest of our issues besides her Mom.
