The thing I like about "2a," is that you can STILL do "2b" afterwards. Doing it the other way around would be problematic, for the obvious reasons ("Why are you fighting for me, when you told me you were setting me free?"). It's also more pro-marriage, I think.

But both work. What DOESN'T work is "Bo-Peep."
