Well The husband left 2 weeks ago today.
Today the Girls left for a week, with My Mother in law to visit relatives out of state. This is the first time I have lived in a house alone in 20 years. I do not know what I am going to do.
It's already too quiet and they only left an hour ago.

Plan activities that you like to do and aren't normally able to do with the family around. Go to a movie that you've been wanting to see. Have dinner with a friend. Go to a bookstore and find a good book you've been wanting to read. Decide to paint a room in the house. Main point is keep busy and don't just sit around dwelling on what's going wrong in your life - do things that enhance it.

Hi Shelby!

Agree with BA!

If everything were "normal" and you had the house to yourself...what would you do?

Read? Watch what YOU want on TV? Eat ice cream out of the bucket? (not that I have EVER done that smile ) Nice, long bath?
Clean? I am trying to think of things that don't cost any money!

Try and have a good day!

Yes,LOL!, courageous wife,I need to find things that are cheap to do.

I am thinking now would be the perfect time to do some redecorating, take down pics with him in it. Box up some of his stuff around the house.
That way the Girls wont have to see me doing it and it will all be done by the time they return.

I also really need to weed, I have not been out there in so long I am embarressed for my neighbors. Haha!

Finally met with a lawyer today. That is so draining emotionally.
and financially,he wants a $2500. retainer. Is that about normal or is that a lot ? I have no idea and I feel totally lost in this whole thing.

2500.00 for a retainer is *really* low! If you are comfortable with the attny, feel he will do a good job and advocate for you and your children 100% then snap him up!

I think the average retainer usually runs between 5K-10K so you did good!

I think it depends on where you live, mine was only 1500.00. You might want to call around and see if that is the norm for your area. You may still end up spending additional funds, it will depend on how much you can work out between you without the L's being involved.
