Here' sa nice scene from the film Clean and Sober :

INT - OFFICE -- DAY

A PRETTY RECEPTIONIST
... Working at her desk... And on the wall behind her... We can barely make out the LOGO for HORIZON EXECUTIVE PROPERTIES... And as she goes on about her work... A FIGURE... The BACK of a suit jacket... STEPS INTO FRAME... And the RECEPTIONIST LOOKS UP...

RECEPTIONIST
Can I help you?

MAN (FIGURE)
(his back to us; measured)
I’d like to see Daryl Poynter.

RECEPTIONIST
I’m sorry, sir... He’s not in. Perhaps another account executive...

... And we SEE the man now... The same man who went through Daryl’s mail... Late forties... Well-groomed... He speaks softly... Contained... As though just having swallowed a glass of nitro and not wanting to explode...

MAN
(CUTTING HER OFF)
When will he be in?

... And the receptionist regards him for a moment... Wary...

RECEPTIONIST
I’m not sure.
(lifting the phone)
If you’ll have a seat... Perhaps I can find someone who knows...

... And as the Receptionist DIALS SOMEONE... the MAN moves to A SEAT in the RECEPTION AREA... And behind him... We can’t help but notice other people arriving for work... Making their way past him... And then past the receptionist... As Martin EMERGES from the hallway behind her... And the two whisper for a moment... And then the Receptionist nods him towards...

THE MAN
... Sitting there... Somewhat blankly... And AFTER A MOMENT... Martin moves beside him... Lowering his head to the man’s...

MARTIN
(softly)
Excuse me, Sir... You’re looking for Mr. Poynter...? To tell you the truth... We haven’t seen him ourselves for several days. Why don’t I have him call you as soon as he makes an appearance?

MAN
(simply)
I’m not leaving until I see him.

MARTIN
(a SIGH; and then)
Perhaps if you tell me what this is in reference to...

MAN
He killed my daughter.
... And others passing through the reception area STOP... Not certain if they heard right... And Martin draws his face closer to the man’s... Lowering his voice... Starting to grow quietly anxious...

MARTIN
Sir...

MAN
He gave my daughter drugs...
(finally turning; LOOKING AT MARTIN)
... And at eleven thirty last night... She died.

... And the two men sit there for a LONG MOMENT... Nothing is said... And beyond them... We can’t help but notice an executive picking up the Receptionist’s phone... Dialing a number...

MARTIN
(quietly)
Sir... I understand that you’re upset... Maybe you should come back another time...
... And the man PULLS himself out of his chair...

MAN
Fine...
(then; RAISING HIS VOICE)
Fine. Well... He’s going to hear from me.
(turning to Martin)
You’re going to hear from me, too.
(then; to the others)
You’re all going to hear from me.

... And the others all stand there... FROZEN... The man...

Standing now... A SECURITY GUARD COMING UP BEHIND HIM and putting a hand on his shoulder.

SECURITY GUARD
(softly)
Sir... If you’ll just follow me.

... But the man JERKS the GUARD’S HAND from him.. And scans the room...

MAN
You’re all murderers. All of you. Protecting a man like that.

SECURITY GUARD
Sir?
... But the man simply TURNS... And makes his way out of the office...

ON MARTIN
... Shaking... Watching him go...

MARTIN
(to himself)
Jesus...
... And AFTER A MOMENT... He too, turns... Starting back towards his office... And another man... KRAMER... A grey-haired CEO... Falls in next to him...

KRAMER
(simply)
When you hear from Daryl... Tell him I’d like to speak with him...

... And just as quickly... Kramer STEPS AWAY... No longer at Martin’s side... And Martin slows down... The meaning of this not lost on him...
