Hey! Not ignoring you! Just haven't felt much like posting.
Nothing new to post.
Had a pleasant time at the car show. Had a nice 4th. Took nephew to the airport Monday night and have been getting the house back in order.
H has seemed focused on finances and other paperwork projects. He seems kind of disoriented, trouble getting thoughts into words....about simple things.
Thinking about doing something impulsive. Jumping in the car and heading to the mountains w/ the kids.

Tomorrow is DD18's birthday. She is all worried cuz her BF hasn't mentioned it yet. Hopefully he forgets and she dumps him. I don't like him. I have made plans for a luncheon w/ us 4 and my mom. H sent a text saying "we should take the kids to XX (his fav restaurant, not her's) Fri or Sat nite." I didn't reply.

In your case, it seems highly probable that this could be referring to THE BREAKUP with OW! Crossing my fingers....

I interpret the long dark tunnel as his MLC (which has been going on for 5 years, right?), and the fiery dragon as OW trying one last time to win him back. Haven't you said that every time he breaks up with her, she begs him to come back? Very unattractive. Perhaps he's finally sick of it and will find the balls this month to tell her to leave.
Then, perhaps, you can two being reconciliation...IF that's what you want.
It seems to me that I went thru a mid life crisis of sorts prior to my affair. I was dissatisfied with my weight, looks, getting older, attention from females and my oldest daughter is heading off to college next month. I was trying to come to grips with losing her as she begins a new life for herself. I've dreaded that moment since she hit 1st grade and now it's here.
Other W stroked my ego to top it all off.
My MLC ended after my affair was broke off and the grieving process was ended. It lasted maybe 4 months.
My W then became a walk away and seems to have hit her own MLC, buying new clothes, hairdo, make-up, nails, and hitting the dating scene.
Now, as an LBS and soon to be single, I am looking like a MLCer again - taking care of my looks, working out, new clothes, want to learn guitar, etc.
Just struck by the irony of it all. Maybe it all boils down to preparing to be single again.
A nice trip to the mountains sounds so relaxing.
