BBJ, congrats on getting a new(er) car- you deserve it!

You can't go wrong with either brand new or almost new...it's better to go in with an open mind and see what you prefer. You might be able to get a nicer car if you went with slightly used but that's for you to decide and see what your preference is. Goodluck!

I've always been able to get a lot more toys on my car buying a little used so it's been an incentive. Of course, you can probably tell them what you want and your budget and they could find you a new one with all the bells and whistles and make a deal. Desperate times you know!

Toyota is desperate with the recalls and bad economy. Plus my dad has been there 20 years as head accountant/office manager. So this time I am a fan of nepotism! smile

Weighed a 2008 Camry against a 2010 Corolla Sport. They were willing to give me dealer invoice on the 2010 because they want to lighten inventory. Plus I got a $750 rebate and 3% financing. smile

Oh and two years 'free' maintenance. I just take it to the dealership for oil changes, tire rotations, etc free the first two years. Exciting! I was so anxious driving home because it has a low profile compared to my old car and I didn't want to hit any bumps!

And the Camry had beige chenille-like fabric interior while the Corolla has a sport package which means black,smooth/shiny interior. Easier to wipe up and/or hide stains.

Clearly you don't live in the Arizona sun! A black interior would kill me!

Congrats on all the independent, adult choices you are making smile

You should be proud of yourself & what you are accomplishing.

I feel like a grown-up, so thank you. smile I think it is a good thing.

I would never have made these decisions on my own when we were married. I was such a pleaser I would do whatever Dan thought best. If he wanted different coverage on the insurance policies, that is what we would get. And I have only had one car since we got married, after my high school car died. Dan and I picked it out together and I don't remember voicing much opinion.

It feels good to make these financial decisions on my own and not regret making them or second-guess myself.
