CW, I think you should ask your H ASAP so he can't use some excuse like "sorry this is too late of notice..."

I also think that if he hestitates or has a lame excuse, it is ok to express the fact that raising the kids alone is tough work and you would really appreciate getting a break. Somewhere in there. I mean it...your H has been improving his contact with the kids lately, right?

You are always a "classy" wife, but maybe you've been feeling like a "cooped up" wife?
