Well, it's 88 degrees in Toronto right now and I just finished half an hour of Yoga in my non-air conditioned apartment, anyone got a towel? It's like doing Hot Yoga in your own home! I'm trying to work some of the tension out of this body. I did some Yoga last night and really worked on the shoulders and upper back, so I did a repeat tonight and added a little more. So, I'm done now and will give a repeat performance tomorrow night. I've got to start exercising somewhere, so this is it. Damn, it's hot!

Wii, window airconditioners are cheap...you can pick one up (or get help grin) at the big box store and install it yourself- about $150.

Good for you on starting the yoga...I could never figure it out. By the time the lady is done striking her first pose I'm already done with my bicep curls. By the time she's done striking her third pose I'm done with my 30 min workout.

In my building air conditioners must be professionally installed and all sorts of paper work has to be provided! There were issues last year with people installing themselves and water leaking into other apartments. The portable AC's are $3-400, so at this point we troop on with two fans. Last night I did 40 minutes of Yoga and Qi Gong and it was only 88 degrees. The sweat was pouring off me at the end but I'm loosening things up which is one of the things I failed to do the last few years. I got so caught up in building myself a life, socializing etc. that exercise went by the wayside, not a good idea. Hope fully I can keep up some kind of program here and as my body gets stronger start a bit of running again.

Nope, not at my workplace anyway! I should probably phone the kids to see if the apartment got it, I doubt it though.

It was downtown apparently and I live and work in the suburbs.
Hey, I'm having a great day today! Maybe this Yoga stuff is really helping. I've done it three nights in a row and my body actually feels really good today, I've got energy, no lightheadedness or fatigued feeling. Often I just have to push through until it lifts which can take a few hours or the whole day...no fun. So, I will continue with my workout tonight despite the heat. Hopefully, this will help me move along physically and therefore allow me to tackle some of the emotional things I need to deal with. It's hard to do that when you're exhausted and just trying to take care of what needs to be taken care of each day. I ditched the Liver Detox two days ago, I emailed my Naturopath and said "maybe I'll try it again some other time...like in another century!"

Last night I did another 40 minute exercise stint. It certainly loosens me up but I find it hard to go to sleep now! I exercise about 8:00 pm - 8:45 pm, take a shower and relax till I go to bed about 11:00 pm. I can't fall asleep until 12:30 am and then I wake up twice per night. Before the Yoga I was falling asleep pretty much right away and then sleeping through the night. Am I stimulating myself too much at night? I think I'll go to bible study tonight and do a light workout when I get home, see if that works. Another day of 90 degree weather today!

I know I read somewhere it is better to exercise earlier in the day rather than later. Later, the exercise gets your body "jazzed up" so to speak. Probably best if you could exercise right when you got home if not first thing in the morning.

Isn't it a pain that you have to move around your routine in the name of health??! lol

Wii, what about getting up early to work out. That way you are pumped for work and then by night you are ready for sleep.

Plus, typically your apartment will be much, much cooler in the morning.
