Ahh my friend you have asked a very good question.
To my knowledge the only whisky(no e) is made in
Scotland: Scotch Whisky (made from malted barley and usually fired with peat during malting process but not always)
and
Canada: Canadian Whisky(can be blended like Crown usually sweeter)
I think maybe Japan calls theirs Whisky too following the Scottish tradition. DAMN good whisky too!
Whiskey (with the e) refers to:
The Irish: Irish Whiskey (usually made from malted barley but not peated) American: Straight Whiskey (can be made with any grain bill) Kentucky: Bourbon Whiskey (must be aged at least 4 years charred oak barrels also has to be at least 50% corn I think)
