BBJ, don't you have anybody else you can call for this type of stuff? Men love to feel usefull and you are feeding him.....
Why in the hell would he possibly want to be useful to me when he is so DONE with me as he said, he can't stand to be around me, yada yada yada?
Anyway I just told the city to use their contractor because I would not have the first clue whom to hire. They said I could use the company they suggested (a local construction co.) or they could find the problem and then I could hire someone to fix it but it would have to be up to their codes/standards. So, I said have your preferred guys do it. They are done, no bill yet, but I do have a nicely shredded chunk of lawn. And my grass was so thick, green, and weed-free. Time to call landscaping crew back I guess.
Oh and as for men feeling useful, I have been texting my friend/co-worker R about buying a new bike. He rides his bike regularly, does RAGBRAI (the bike ride across the state of Iowa, etc.). He made fun of me on FB for having a 15 yr old Roadmaster....so I have been pumping his brain for suggestions on what bike I should get.
