Looks like this was a work only weekend! I finished the restore on a 1944 Martin guitar and a 1787 Panormo violin. Today I spent the day working on a viola that I am making for the upcoming VSA violinmakers competition in November.

Tonight on the bike was a success! I was on it for a total of about an hour and by the end I was shifting up into 4th gear. Definetly a different feeling than a car! For anyone out there that knows motorcycles, it was a Suzuki GSXR600. I think I need to go get my motorcycle permit now.

ALL of us women like a "touch" of bad boy! But you are too young to be from that movie, Wild Hogs!
Wow...Didn't realize they have a violinmakers competition. And this is honest but dumb of me....I didn't realize that PEOPLE not machines still make violins! (these days)
Motorcycles are very fuel efficient, I hear. Good on the budget! But no room for a car seat.

v1, please be careful. Not trying to scare you but a lot of people don't realize how vulnerable you are on a bike when you're out on the streets. I upped me life insurance soon after I started riding and I'm not kidding. Lately I pretty much stopped riding realizing if I lose a limb I'll be screwed. Before at least I had a false sense of security that STBXW will take care of me if I ended up in a wheel chair lol
Of course, they're super addicting, the feeling you get on a bike is unmatched and I used to race cars (not drag racing, real door to door racing). When I gave that up after DD was born I had withdrawls and the bike was the only fix that filled that void.
So here's my advice: take the MSF course they're cheap (don't learn from a friend), buy good quality gear (helmet, jacket, pants, visibility vest) and wear ATGATT (All The Gear All The Time- biker lingo). Pick up the book 'Proficient Motorcycling' and watch out for the cagers (cars- biker lingo)
Gixxers are cool bikes, I prefer the vStom like touring/dual-sport bikes. I had dreams of traveling coast to coast and up to Alaska on a bike tent camping along the way like several have done at advrider.com - I'll stick to off-roading in a 4x4 for now.

SR, I do not feel safe at all on a motorcycle and I cannot even buy one until next summer, AFTER I take the safety course. The thought of riding on the interstate with all those texting, chatting, eating, book reading drivers makes me nervous! I am going to buy my gear before I get the motorcycle. I rode his around in a quiet neighborhood tonight, no traffic.
In highschool through college I was a skateboarder. I even landed myself in Thrasher magazine in my senior year of highschool. Never broke a bone or hit my head but then I broke my ankle on a mountain bike! No, I don't have any tattoos! lol
